The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a seminar to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World's Anti-Fascism War in Beijing on Tuesday.

The seminar is part of the group's recent celebrations and a key part of its efforts to mark the anniversary.

On behalf of the organization, ACWF President Shen Yueyue expressed her respect to women across China who had made significant contributions to the war effort and to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to ensure victory.

Shen urged women to study and implement the points addressed in Xi Jinping's keynote speech. During his speech, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee commended the tremendous spirit exhibited during the war against Japanese aggression.

Shen called on women to do their part in building China, both on a social and family level, and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

As Shen noted in her speech, Chinese women were a firm and unyielding force during the war against Japanese aggressors. They were committed to defending their families and country and formed a women's anti-Japanese and national salvation movement.

"They went to battle on the frontlines alongside their fathers and brothers; on the home front, they devoted themselves to production, fundraising, nursing child refugees, and tending the wounded," Shen said.

During the war, history was created by scores of female heroes who shed blood and even their lives, making indelible contributions to ensure victory.

Shen said that the speech Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered during the commemoration activities to mark the V-day in Beijing on September 3 greatly motivated the Chinese to love their country. Mr. Xi's words raised morale across the country, increasing national pride, cohesion, and the people's sense of responsibility.

Shen asked women to turn the spirit displayed during the war against Japanese aggression into real action to ensure continued prosperity and strength for the country, allowing the nation to rise and securing the people's right to pursue happiness.

She expects women to actively participate in ACWF's campaigns like Women Entrepreneurship and Innovation Action to make new contributions in an era of change and entrepreneurism.

Shen hopes that women will practice core socialist values, pass on China's traditional virtues, cherish and defend peace, develop a strong family culture and integrate their personal ambitions with the Chinese dream

Shen required women's federations of all levels to implement the spirit expressed by General Secretary Xi at CPC Central Committee's conference on mass organizations, groups and the V-day celebrations. She called on them to uphold the CPC's leadership and stick to the path of women's development of Chinese socialism.

She encouraged them to make the idea of serving women a guiding principle by listening to their needs and bridging the gaps between the CPC, the government and Chinese women. Shen added that she hoped women's federations would become "Women's Homes", where women could go to find trust and support.

At the seminar, war veteran Li Min, a descendant of Yu Aimei, a woman who supported the CPC's guerilla warfare against Japanese invaders, along with other scholars, recalled the role of women during the war and praised them for their important contributions.

Vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF Meng Xiaosi presided over the meeting. Attending the seminar were Vice-Pesident and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF Jiao Yang, along with more than 80 veterans, offspring of female heroes, female representatives from different professional backgrounds and scholars in the field of studies on war against Japanese aggression.
