Women's Studies Institute of China (WSIC) established its new academic committee on August 22.

Tan Lin, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech at the conference.

Tan called on all committee members to inherit and carry forward the fine tradition and work style of previous committees, adhere to the correct political direction and academic guidance and grasp the working mechanism of the board, so as to make contributions to promoting the academic development of women's institutes.

The official also urged the promotion of the transformation of research achievements, with a view to better serving the overall situation, women and their work, as well as reforms of women's federations.

In addition, Tan issued letters of appointment to three part-time committee members who serve outside the WSIC.
