Beijing Women's Federation organized a symposium on October 27 to guide women from various industries across the city to study, publicize and implement the latest spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The CPC congress was held in Beijing from October 18-24, where President Xi Jinping remarked that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.

Cai Qi, secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, put forward a series of specific requirements regarding the publicity of the congress spirit.

Jing Junhai, vice-secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, attended the symposium and explained the efforts that have been made to promote the congress spirit.

Jing said Beijing Municipal Party Committee held two meetings from October 25-26 to convey the spirit of the congress, and the first Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, respectively, after the closing session of the twice-a-decade event.

Jing said that Beijing Women's Federation has shown its high political stance by organizing the symposium. Women across the city have paid particular attention to the CPC congress, he added.

Women's work is an important part of the Party's mass work. Studying and implementing the congress spirit is the federation's primary political task from now on, the official announced.

After the symposium, Jing urged attendees to "remain true to their original aspiration and keep their mission in mind"; seriously study the congress spirit to further advance Xi's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; and, work tirelessly to the realization of the "Chinese Dream" of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Cai Shumin, president of Beijing Women's Federation, said she was greatly inspired by Jing's requirements on how to better promote the congress spirit for the federation.

The 19th CPC congress was held during a decisive stage in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and at a critical moment as socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.

In particular, before the opening session of the CPC congress, the Party leadership group of the federation released the Work Plan on Studying, Publicizing and Implementing the Spirit of the 19th CPC congress, Cai Shumin explained.

Aside from this, the federation has positively held various activities including an exhibition featuring the country's achievements and development over the past five years and educational activities on watching the opening session of the CPC congress.

In addition, the federation has taken advantage of the Internet and new media platforms to publicize remarks from outstanding role models across the city who have listened to the report delivered at the CPC congress, so as to inspire women and families' enthusiasm for studying the congress spirit in the city.

Cai Shumin said that the federation has led women to closely follow the leadership of the Party by guiding them to study the congress spirit and encouraging them to play their part in families and society in the new era.

Li Biyou, deputy secretary-general of Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Li Yanlai, director of the Office of Beijing Municipal Party Committee also attended the event.

Accordingly, around 70 people participated in the symposium included representatives of the delegates to the 19th CPC congress from Beijing; National and Beijing Municipal March-8th Red-banner Holders; women's committees and women groups of democratic parties; executive members of Beijing Women's Federation; grassroots women workers; and, those from online fields and new economic and social organizations as well as women's federation officials across the city.
