Sexual harassment stills occurs regularly in colleges and universities in China, where concrete measures are needed to tackle the situation and protect students' rights, say officials.

Sexual harassment on campus harms both the molesters and the students. On the one hand, it causes much damage to the public image of the molester and the university; on the other hand, sexual harassment has a negative influence on students' views on marriage and casts a long shadow over their future.

Several ways are proposed to prevent sexual harassment.

First, college officials should establish professional ethics for teachers and implement a long-term mechanism of ethics construction.

Second, college officials should construct a sexual harassment punishment mechanism.

Moreover, female students should also learn to protect themselves and voice their opinions when necessary.

Besides, the public should stand up and stop others'wrong behavior when they witness sexual harassment occuring.
