U.S.-based ridesharing firm Uber recently released its second employee diversity report, disclosing the gender ratio and race composition of all the company's staff from its offices around the world.

The report was an early initiative of Uber's new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
 
According to the results, by the end of March this year, some 62 percent of Uber's employees were male. At 38 percent, the number of female employees went up by 1.9 percentage points compared to the previous year.
 
However, male employees dominate the science and technology positions, accounting for 82.1 percent.
 
Meanwhile, the diversity of the company's overseas employees improved.
 
The number of Uber's female employees in Latin America reached 47 percent, up seven percent from last year. Meanwhile, 15.6 percent of the top management there are female, up 4.3 percent. 
 
When it comes to race composition, the proportion of white employees at Uber reached 48.6 percent, with Asian employees accounting for 32.3 percent, black employees representing 8.1 percent and Latino employees accounting for 6.1 percent.
 
Meanwhile, in the science and tech positions, black and Latino employees account for only 5.6 percent, up 2.5 percent on the previous year. Meanwhile, the proportion of Asian employees decreased from 47.9 percent in 2017 to 44.7 percent this year.
