The China Cooperative Trade Enterprises Association (CCTEA) officially announced the establishment of its Women Entrepreneurs Branch in Shanghai on July 31.

Founded in 1992, the CCTEA is committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between urban and rural market enterprises, innovating circulation service methods, and cultivating new, modernized circulation entities.

The association also undertakes the formulation of relevant national and industry standards, and has drafted and published national standards such as the Circulation Cooperation Organization Classification and Regulations for the Management of Rural Commercial Retail Stores.

It is reported that the newly established Women's Entrepreneurs Branch of CCTEA will provide assistance and services for the development of female entrepreneurs in terms of giving full play to their unique strengths and broadening their horizons based on their characteristics.

The branch will also conduct extensive research and investigation, to offer advice and plans for relevant government departments; actively participate in social welfare activities; provide assistance in setting industry standards, writing relevant development reports, and researching and solving important women's issues; as well as organize relevant cooperating and exchanging activities to give counseling and training.

With the continuous improvement of the entrepreneurial environment in recent years, the proportion of women entrepreneurs has increased steadily. According to the White Paper on Gender Equality and Women's Development in China, published by the Information Office of the State Council in September 2015, a quarter of the total number of entrepreneurs were women and women accounted for 55 percent of those in the Internet occupation. Moreover, 64 Chinese women entrepreneurs were ranked on the 2018 Hurun Global Self-made Women Billionaires List released in March this year, accounting for 63 percent of those on the list.

The entrepreneurial spirit and social responsibility of women entrepreneurs is increasingly recognized by all walks of life in society. As a result, more and more entrepreneur associations have set up their female branches, and the number of awards and social activities specifically designed for women entrepreneurs is also on the rise.

In addition, the obstacles and needs faced by women entrepreneurs in their career and life have also received support from professional institutions. Thus China Resources Szitic Trust Co. announced the establishment of business strategic cooperation with the newly established Women Entrepreneurs Branch to provide professional services for women entrepreneurs in the areas of  asset allocation and wealth inheritance.
