Chongqing Women's Federation (CWF), in southwest China, held a special training session from September 5-7 at the local Chongqing Women's Home center, aimed at improving the ability of officials to solve marriage and family disputes.

The training, themed on "improving abilities to solve marriage and family disputes in multiple ways", aimed to strengthen services for women and their families and use legal and psychological knowledge to complete mediation effectively.

The event drew the attendance of a total of 96 leaders and representatives from women's federations at all levels.

Organizers arranged six lectures to solve key problems existing in the protection of women's legal rights and interests.

The first lecture was given by Ma Shanxiang, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress.

The lecture was broadcast online. Over 26,300 women's federation officials watched and posted over 22,000 comments on the live-stream broadcasting platform.

Organizers also invited experts from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, the municipal court, the procuratorate and civil affairs bureaus and municipal Party School to deliver lectures.

Speakers explained the national Constitution to participants and suggested how to reform the judicial system on family matters, protect minors' rights and manage marriage and family work.

As part of the event, representatives from seven counties introduced their professional experiences to add to the conversation.

CWF staff distributed books concerning legal knowledge to participants to help them learn more professional legal knowledge so as to safeguard women's interests effectively.

Participants said they gained a lot from the training lesson, which enriched their theoretical knowledge and provided them with valuable experience and mediation skills, and gave them confidence in completing their work.

At the closing ceremony, CWF Vice President Yang Tinghui made arrangements for future work in protecting women's legal rights and interests.
