The 2018 International Summit of Women Entrepreneurs kicked off in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on November 21.

The event, themed around "Innovation and Growth: Women Empowerment to Win the Future," was co-organized by the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs (CAWE), the National School of Development at Peking University and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Deng Li, member of the Leading Party Group of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF); Li Xin, vice-chairperson of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and Lin Yi, vice-president of CPAFFC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Deng affirmed the achievements made by CAWE in uniting, serving women entrepreneurs and mobilizing them to develop creativity.

She hoped all entrepreneurs would conscientiously study and implement the important remarks made by President Xi Jinping,  dare to innovate and contribute their efforts to women's development and make higher achievements in the new era.

Li said the Chinese women entrepreneurs have actively participated in economic construction since the reform and opening-up and have made significant achievements in promoting employment, offering public welfare donations and accelerating social development.

Lin promised the CPAFFC will establish a communication platform between Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs to help them share experiences, based on its mission to promote international cooperation, maintain world peace and achieve common development.

Additional participants at the event included outstanding female entrepreneurs and experts from across the country, and over 70 entrepreneurs and government officials from 18 different countries and regions.

Chinese women entrepreneurs issued the Guangzhou Initiative at the summit, promising that they will be patriotic and law-abiding, firmly support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, play an exemplary role and help Chinese enterprises grow in the future.
