There are three stages of women’s political participation. They are: first, political participation awareness, meaning a general interest in and proactive attitude towards political life, and awareness of whether or not women in politics consciously represent women's overall interests and appropriately reflect their legitimate interests; second, basic political participation, including voting and standing for election, and expressing  women’s standpoints through various media on public affairs; third, advanced political participation, wherein women achieve access to authoritative departments and hence direct involvement in decision-making on state and social affairs.
