The Sino-US Cultural Exchange of High-level Consultation Mechanism was established in May 2010 in Beijing. In order to further expand communication, the two countries' governments in humanities mechanisms add women's questions. At the beginning of 2011, "the Sino-US Joint Statement" signed by the two heads of states, put forward that both sides would take practical steps to strengthen cultural exchange. They pointed out that both countries were actively exploring the strengthening of the role of women in societal communication and discussion.
