The Women's Media Awards, born in 2010, is an annual public awards ceremony, co-sponsored by and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, also known as UN Women. It is also the first large domestic awards ceremony with the theme of "gender equality". This year outstanding role models from various areas will be voted on to receive awards.

The awards' aim is to promote gender equality by celebrating women's progress through the advertising and media industries. The theme of the 2012 Women's Media Awards is "Love is a Kind of Power". The jury is organized by UN Women's gender experts, to present awards annually to women, men and institutions. The awards ceremony will be held in late January 2013.
