The Cultivation of Female Innovative Talent and Construction of Advanced Gender Culture Forum was held from July 15 to 18 in Guiyang, south China’s Guizhou Province. The forum was organized by the Women's Education Committee under the Chinese Women’s Research Society, Beijing-based China Women's University and Guizhou School for Women Officials.
The forum concentrated on the cultivation of innovative talent, women officials’ continuing education, and construction of advanced gender culture. Experts said there was still a certain gap in the educational level of women and men. In order to achieve gender equality in the field of education, there was not only a need for women educators’ persistent efforts, but also positive attention and participation of the whole of society.
In attendance at the forum were officials from women’s federations of various provinces, and experts from universities across China.
Vice President of the Guizhou Women's Federation Wei Jun gave a speech at the conference.
"The Guizhou Women's Federation attaches great importance to training and selecting female officials and tries their best to realize political equality between men and women,” Wei said. According to Wei there are 38,895 female officials in the Party and government institutions in Guizhou Province, accounting for 24.07 percent of the total in the province's Party and government institutions.
The Chinese Women’s Research Society Women's Education Committee is a national academic group of agencies, experts and scholars engaged in theoretical research on women's education and cultivating female talent.
