The 2014 Women / Gender Studies Session was held by the Chinese Women's Research Society (CWRS) in Beijing from July 28 to July 31.
The session mainly focused on the gender equality evaluation of laws and policies, by inviting experts from the Law Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), the Department of Rights and Interests at the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), Peking University and other experts and scholars in this field to deliver the lessons.
The lessons not only included a general introduction to Gender Equality Evaluation Theory on Chinese Laws and Policies and the Legal System of the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests in China, but also included discussions of topical issues, such as anti-domestic violence, women's land rights, and women's rights of employment.
A total of 130 people took part in the session. Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF and Director of the Women's Studies Institute of China (WSIC) Tan Lin made a speech at the conference.
