Academic Discussion of China Women's University invited scholars from different fields to discuss the case of Li Yang, trainer of Crazy English, who abused his wife, Kim Lee. Li Yang's case revealed the weaknesses of domestic violence interventions in China. This discussion demonstrated that state power intervention in anti domestic violence is essential as well as the effect of media in guiding public opinions and social culture on anti domestic violence cannot be ignored. In addition, we should carefully evaluate the function of psychological counseling in domestic violence intervention. Collaborating with state powers has proved to be an effective mode of intervention for various organizations across the world.
