This paper investigated selection of majors,knowledge discourse and power structure of higher foreign languages education from a gender perspective.Data analysis reveals that women do dominate this field,an effect of biased sex role stereotypes and male-centered culture.Moreover,knowledge discourse and power structures are impacted by the patriarchy.The paper concludes that women's roles are still marginalized in college foreign language education.
