Abstract:  
In recent years,English speech contests have provided a stage for English learners to show what they have learned.We have been impressed by the quality of contestants' pronunciation,intonation,performance and creative and logical thinking.However,the process of training for the contest is the process of enlarging language input and output with teachers' guidance.Therefore,the traditional 'teacher-centered' teaching mode has turned into a 'student-centered' teaching mode,which focuses on training students' comprehensive language and logical thinking abilities.This paper applies the training methods for English speech contests to English teaching practices so as to find out the weaknesses in English study and teaching techniques,so as to test and verify that the training methods improve students' comprehensive and self-learning abilities.
