Abstract:  
More than half of the countries of the world apply a quota system to increase women's participation in politics.This article compares the political participation of women in China and Germany.From the 1980 s,German political parties established different forms of women's quotas in their party's manifestos,a process driven forward by European Union member states' experiences.A comparison with China suggests that the benefits a quota for women's participation in politics might have here.
