Summary: China signed the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) on July 17, 1980, and has submitted four implementation reports to the UN since 1982. The CEDAW Committee has invited NGOs to produce shadow reports for use in evaluating government efforts to meet the obligations of the CEDAW. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of China's signing of the CEDAW, the Chinese Women's Research Society, as organizer and coordinator of the writing of China's shadow report, held on April 26-30 2010 a CEDAW training activity to propel the Chinese government and women's organizations' carrying out of the CEDAW. This presentation includes for reference the main content and results of the training.
