Summary: The Gender Equality and Women's Development Report in China 2006-2007 describes from the macro perspective progress in gender equality and women's development, and examines from the micro perspective the problems that vulnerable groups, such as migrant worker women, laid-off women, left-behind women, elderly women, left-behind girls and disabled women face. From the social gender perspective, it analyses measures to improve relevant laws and policies to promote gender equality and women's development in the context of improving people's livelihood.
