Summary: Next year is the 20th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and is the final year for the implementation of the UN's millennium development goals. The 58th Commission on the Status of Women was held recently at the United Nations, and the commission established the theme "challenges and achievements in the implementation of the MDGs for women and girls", and determined this year's WCW theme to be "women's equality represents the progress of all mankind". Centering on the above themes, many leaders of United Nations' organizations made important speeches and emphasized the significance of gender equality on human development.
