Title: 2014 National Social Science Foundation Projects and Youth Projects Announced

Summary: The 2014 annual projects of the National Social Science Foundation were announced by the National Planning Group of Philosophy and Social Science on June 16, 2014. There are 3,818 projects approved for subsidization this year, or 13.6 percent of the total projects, which is an increase of 0.3 percent over last year. Among the approved projects, there are 309 key projects, each with 350,000 yuan (USD$ 55,825) in subsidization; and 2,465 normal projects and 1,044 youth projects with 200,000 yuan (USD$ 31,900) in subsidization for each one. According to the statistics, there are 27 projects related to women's/gender studies among these approved projects (key projects: 1; normal projects: 20; youth projects: 6). The total subsidization of these 27 projects is 5,550,000 yuan (USD$ 885,225).
