Main content: This project is based on gender studies theory. It cracks the major problems concerning the implementation and assessment of The Program for the Development of Chinese Women and The Program for the Development of Chinese Children

The study report volume I evaluates the goals, indicators and data of the two 2001-2010 Programs and proposes basic research principles and strategies to improve the monitoring and evaluation work on the two Programs. Volume II discusses problems, indicator adjustment frameworks and its basis in areas of women and economy, women in decision-making and management, women and education, women and health, women and law, women and environment, and areas of children and health, children and education, children and law, children and the environment.

The research report was taken into consideration when the 2001-2010 Program of Development of Chinese Women and Children was issued in 2008 by the State Council Working Committee.
