Feminist Critique of Justice Theory in Contemporary Political Philosophy
Source:Chinese Women's Research Network | Release Date:2010-8-19
Keyword: feminism, justice, deconstruction
Author: FU Cui-lian
Summary:

Feminists have criticized that the justice theory presented by Rawls ignores what justice is due for women who account for half of the humankind. From a feminist perspective, Rawls's justice theory ignores the unjust gender order and likely buries it under the guise of universalism. By criticizing Rawls's justice theory, feminists point to the ignorance of women, deconstruct the traditional divide of the public and private spheres, and express a feminist appeal for justice.
