This paper examines the findings of research with one thousand rural women in 24 administrative villages in the western region in order compare women's satisfaction with their marriages between those who stayed behind and those who do not. It learns that although "staying behind" affects women's satisfaction with marital relationships, such effect is minor and there is not big division in their levels of satisfaction with marriages between the two types of women. The paper discusses the above findings from the viewpoints of husbands and wives who are socialized in society and their marital expectations.
