Disscuss on Women's Statutory Pensionable Age in China

Pensionable age is one of the most concerned issues in China in recent years. This article discusses this issue in three related aspects: relation between pensionable age and life expectancy; pensionable age around the world; effects of changes in pensionable age on labor market. The article examines the changes of Chinese life expectancy, factors in influencing changes in pensionable age around the world, and the phenomena of Chinese women taking mandatory early retirement having lower pension and having to work while having pension. The authors suggest that the female pensionable age be revised and extended.
