Domestic Workers' Labor Rights

Nowadays, there are about 15 million domestic workers in China. Among them over 96 percent are women. The Chinese Labor Law can not be used to help domestic workers, and there is not any other specialized law to protect their labor rights. There are many cases where domestic workers' labor rights have been violated. This paper discusses domestic workers' labor rights from the definition of labor, the peculiarity of domestic workers' labor rights, and the necessity of protecting domestic workers' labor rights. The purpose of the paper is to make the legislative organ pay attention to the domestic workers, improving the legislation process of protecting domestic workers' labor rights.
