Feminist studies of the Birmingham School were a pioneer in worldwide feminist studies, charting a direction for the following feminist studies. Birmingham School feminists argued that women's subordination was structural and encompassed economic, political and cultural subordination. Women's subordination has roots in the notion that women were closer to nature. Women's subordination had many aspects, including media construction, state construction and women's self-construction.
