Achievements: Deng has published more than 20 works, including The Family Tomorrow; My Views on the Family; and Social Problems in the Market Economy, which have been awarded the National First Prize and China Book Award. He has successively published more than 100 papers, such as: Problems of Community Building, and Distribution Problems of Political Resources. His three papers--- Lightening the Problems of Family Values in 1980; Reasons for Fewer Schools in China in 1984; and Lightening the Mental Stress of being an Official in 1985, are all subjects that have provoked controversial comments in the printed media. In 1983, Deng became one of the first to propose a women's studies discipline.
