Undertake projects: Deng gives lectures and carries out cooperative research with Yale University, University of Maryland, Waseda University, Osaka City University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Taiwan Academia Sinica Institute of History and Korea University.
Achievements: Deng teaches and does scientific research on women's history, specifically women's development history, traditional culture and Chinese women ancients, and Tang Dynasty (618-907) and Song Dynasty (960-1279) women's history. Among Deng's published works are Women and History in the Tang and Song Dynasties. Deng has given scholarly lectures at Osaka City University, Taiwan Academia Sinica and at the UN Workshop on gender, higher education, and social development. In 2001, Deng gave a highly successful International Workshop at Peking University on Tang and Song Dynasty Women's History and China's History.
